    In Kundalini yoga sessions, Shehera will listen to your main areas of concern and curate a program that will best benefit your underlying issues. There will be an initial 30 minute intake session in which we will explore areas of contention and road blocks and a subsequent 90 minute session(s) which will include pranayama (breathing techniques), asanas (yoga postures), chanting mantras, meditations and various forms of sound healing as applicable.

  • Energy is the center of our being. Our physical, emotional, and mental space is consumed by energy. Our thoughts, our movement patterns, body language, posture and how we “feel” are all energetic. What energy healing offers is to help align your chakras which are known as your energy centers.

    They consist of 7 main points that run along a straight line starting from the root chakra, located by the base of your spine. This represents our foundation. When blocked, we feel threatened and unstable. When opened, we feel grounded, centered and confident in our ability to withstand challenges. The next up the spine is our sacral chakra, which is located in your lower abdomen. This rules our emotions, our emotions of others, governs creativity and sexual energy. When blocked, you could feel a lack of control in your life. Above sacral is the solar plexus chakra, responsible for confidence and control in life. When blocked, one may feel an overwhelming feeling of shame and self doubt. Next chakra is the heart chakra, which is what bridges our lower chakras to the upper chakras. This influences our ability to give and receive love, from others as well as ourselves. When blocked, one will have difficulty in fully opening up to others. When open, you can experience deep compassion and empathy. The throat chakra gives voice to the heart. Allowing us to speak our truth and communicate our personal power. It gives us the ability to speak clearly rather than not being able to find the words to express how one feels. The third eye chakra follows the throat, reaching closer to the divine. This is starting to tap into our intuition. To “see” within. The eye of the soul. It allows us to see the bigger picture, receive visions and deep insight to universal wisdom. Last chakra is the crown. Sitting at the top of our head and when opened gives us the ability to fully connect spiritually and access higher levels of consciousness.

  • Creating a meditation practice as simple as 10-15 mins a day, particularly before starting your day, really sets the tone for how you approach the rest of the day. Sure, things can still come up that are chaotic and unexpected which can cause us heightened stress or bring us out of a peaceful and calm state. However, by cultivating a meditation practice, it builds the resilience of mindfulness, being calm, cool and collected. It allows and creates a space to pause before going straight to reactivity. It may take you to a level 5 stress response versus a 8-10 level knee jerk reaction. Meditation comes with many benefits, allowing the meditator to connect to their inner self. Learning how to calm and ease the mind through meditation is a simple approach that requires one to learn how to silence the monkey brain. To learn how to be in the moment, learning to be present and still. It is a simple practice, though simple doesn’t mean easy. The payoff though is invaluable for managing stress, regulating our nervous system and other physical and mental benefits.

    There are plenty of approaches to meditate, such as guided meditations on various topics, instrumental or sound bath meditation, silent, mindful meditation, breathing meditation and walking meditations. Nearly any given moment throughout your day, you can simply slip into a meditative practice. That is the beauty and advantage of this practice.
